My Girl

I've made this album sometime back ago, but didn't have the time to blog it. 

Bookbinding is my new found interest. Many reasons to love it.

(1) It gets rid of all your old papers. So you can buy new ones.

(2) It gets rid of photos you regret developing. As they are not fantastic enough for a layout and you didn't know why you spent 40 cents developing it.

(3) It looks impressive. ( I think, more than a layout)

(4) It is a great gift. (It's cheap, remember you wanted to get rid of your old papers?)

Got the concept of this binding from Guru Sharon's class @ Papermarket. Love how easy this binding works and how pretty it turns out.

However, think for the meanwhile, I will stick to my Zutter binding machine to save me the trouble.

Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet

Yeah, the much awaited Graphic 45 Nutcracker papers are finally out. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep properly the night before and was out waiting for the shops to open the following morning. I know it sounds so silly, but Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake are my favourite ballet pieces. So I really cannot resist the moment I saw them.

Hubby was so nice to share the little bit of excitement with me by allowing me to work on the papers the day itself.

Love the theatre kind of feel in this layout. Hence I tried to create a stage with some ballerina circling around it.

Spent lots of effort and enjoyment fussy cutting the lovely papers. Everything just look so nice.

Spent also lots of effort glittering and glossy accent most of the stuff that was fussy cut.

Decorated Clara's dress with ribbons and blings.

And I extra love the Stampendous shaved ice fragments. Just so apt for the Christmas theme and easy to use. You can adhere these fragments either using gel medium or acrylic paint or any liquid glue. Though I like gel medium best as it dries clear and it's not that thick.

Happy Teachers' Day

I still prefer Teachers' Day to be on the 1st of September.

We celebrated Teachers' Day last Friday and I was like a mad woman the day before, busy preparing gifts for my daughter's teachers.

This time round, I finally brought out my zutter machine and made notebooks with them.

Didn't have much time decorating the front cover. This one is for her ballet teacher, hence the ballerina in front.

I wanted to pick up my colouring again. But time is always an important and big stumbling block. Though I manage to colour some Magnolia girls this time round. Hope her teachers like the gifts. Happy Teachers' Day!

Congratulations Papermarket

Papermarket has a 4th outlet at Vivo this September! Wow, this is so cool! Now there is 1 more reason for me to shop at Vivo!

I love the fourth outlet deco. Very refreshing and woody feel. 

Love the spacious classrooms and the panel displays. 

 

Another good place to distress.

Thank You and Goodbye Teacher

It's sad that Chloe's N2 form teacher is leaving her school soon (like today?). She's been a very good form and Math teacher. Perhaps I feel that we have the same educational values and she teaches Math as well. Hence, I have always been extra nice to her.

So despite the high stress level at work, decided to create a layout for her. And what's best to work on a school theme layout other than the Graphic 45 ABC Primer papers?

Pardon me for the lousy photo quality as I finished the piece late last night and couldn't wait till today to take the photos.

It's a pretty simple layout, with the typical G45 frame. I fussy cut quite a bit of little children from the papers. And I love the "My Present for You, A Kindergarten Painting Book". I thought it was so apt for the theme, so much so that this layout doesn't need a title!

I stole the idea of the moving pendulum clock from Sharon's doll house. Haha, I thought it's quite cool.

And as usual, I love my Kaiser Craft wooden embellishment. Ink them and put some dimensional pearls to them. And frames being frames, they create emphasis on your photos. I love it!

These little rulers, by Maya Road, goes very well with this series of paper as well. They make good embellishment for you to write little messages at the bottom.
