Moments that makes you Smile

Finally, a piece of altered art after a long break.

The prima bicycle frame is altered using gesso, mist, paints, impasto and crackle.

I super loved the Kaisercraft rub-ons and how they interact with the stamping on the additional plastic cover I self-made.

Not to forget the dried embellishments I got from Japan many years back.

And also the whimsical fairytale feel created using the G45 Once Upon a Spring Time papers.

Hope you like the piece as much as I do.

You Coloured My Life

Hiya, finally restarting my scrapbooking blogging journey. It's been a long break. And there's no better month to start other than the beautiful month of March!

A colourful layout using glimmer mist and goosebumps to create the resist. I love how the rainbow colours turnout!

A closer look at the resist created using goosebumps. Super easy and fast product to use. You don't even need any embossing for it.

Love the glass pebbles by prima. It gives a magnified look with added dimension.

Hope u like this colourful layout.

October Afternoon – Happy Days

Hiya, I’m back! Decided to snap out of my long months of emo-ness and start the posts coming again

Yes, to maintain sanity, I’m hooked onto Pin-Interest. I will be selecting random colours and sketches to challenge myself each week. And every month, I will complete an altered art. (Let’s see how long this last. Hahahaha)

And’s what’s better than to start the Year post rolling by posting a random layout I did ages ago while waiting for classes to start.

I guess the photo did the most in this layout.

I tried to play with paints and let them drip. I’m in love with the painting dripping effect. And what’s best to sprinkle some antique flakes while waiting for the paint to dry. Though I kinda of regretted that after a while.

Technique: If you alphas aren’t big enough why not mat them on a cardstock and cut it to the size you want? Best of all, I could ink it and make it into the brown dirty look.  I like the title “Happy Days”.

Technique: Mixing stickers with punches. Sticker butterfly to top off with puncher butterfly, gives you more dimensional butterflies at a cheaper cost.

Hope you like the layout.

Wishing you many Happy Days ahead in 2013!

Happy Birthday Sweetie Pie

Yes! It’s the naughty, impish one’s birthday yesterday.

However, this layout is not representative of her birthday party she had yesterday. This was her last year’s birthday party. Simply adore the October Afternoon Birthday papers for this layout. And was saving this layout for this occasion.

Nothing fanciful here, except the use of paint with my stamps. Double image stamping.

Fussy cutting all the lovely animals.

And of coz, the cute little one.

Happy Birthday Darling. Mummy love you forever.

My Girl

I've made this album sometime back ago, but didn't have the time to blog it.

Bookbinding is my new found interest. Many reasons to love it.
(1) It gets rid of all your old papers. So you can buy new ones.
(2) It gets rid of photos you regret developing. As they are not fantastic enough for a layout and you didn't know why you spent 40 cents developing it.
(3) It looks impressive. ( I think, more than a layout)
(4) It is a great gift. (It's cheap, remember you wanted to get rid of your old papers?)
(5) ..... (6).... (7).....(101)

Got the concept of this binding from Guru Sharon's class @ Papermarket. Love how easy this binding works and how pretty it turns out.

However, think for the meanwhile, I will stick to my Zutter binding machine to save me the trouble.

Materials Used: Webster pages Pattern Paper, Prima embellishments, Eyelets, Twine, Martha Stewart Punches.

Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet

Yeah, the much awaited Graphic 45 Nutcracker papers are finally out. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep properly the night before and was out waiting for the shops to open the following morning. I know it sounds so silly, but Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake are my favourite ballet pieces. So I really cannot resist the moment I saw them.

Hubby was so nice to share the little bit of excitement with me by allowing me to work on the papers the day itself.

Love the theatre kind of feel in this layout. Hence I tried to create a stage with some ballerina circling around it.

Spent lots of effort and enjoyment fussy cutting the lovely papers. Everything just look so nice.

Spent also lots of effort glittering and glossy accent most of the stuff that was fussy cut.

Decorated Clara's dress with ribbons and blings.

And I extra love the Stampendous shaved ice fragments. Just so apt for the Christmas theme and easy to use. You can adhere these fragments either using gel medium or acrylic paint or any liquid glue. Though I like gel medium best as it dries clear and it's not that thick.

Materials Used: Graphic 45 Nutcracker pattern paper, Prima Vintage trinkets, crystal swirls and pebbles, Stampendous Fragments, Doily paper and mists.

Happy Teachers' Day

I still prefer Teachers' Day to be on the 1st of September.

We celebrated Teachers' Day last Friday and I was like a mad woman the day before, busy preparing gifts for my daughter's teachers.

This time round, I finally brought out my zutter machine and made notebooks with them.

Didn't have much time decorating the front cover. This one is for her ballet teacher, hence the ballerina in front.

I wanted to pick up my colouring again. But time is always an important and big stumbling block. Though I manage to colour some Magnolia girls this time round. Hope her teachers like the gifts. Happy Teachers' Day!
